Lash extensions are chosen by four parameters: the curl sets the effect (from a natural B to a dramatic D, and L curls for hooded eyes), the thickness depends on the technique (0.10–0.12 mm for classic, 0.03–0.07 mm for volume), the length depends on the client's natural lashes, and the color on her complexion. Below are cheat-sheet tables for each parameter and a guide to ONRIAL, Vilmy and Sculptor trays.

The main rule: the lower and straighter the natural lashes grow and the more hooded the lid, the more lift you need — move from C to CC and D, or to L curls. If the natural lashes are already curly, a strong D curl may look unnatural; C or CC is a better choice.

Lash thickness: which one for which technique

The principle is simple: the more lashes in a fan, the thinner each one should be, so the total weight doesn't overload the natural lash. For weak lashes, go one step thinner.
How to choose lash length
- Guideline: the extension is about 2–3 mm longer than the natural lash. An extension that is too long acts as a lever and shortens retention.
- The most popular lengths are 9–12 mm. Short 4–7 mm lengths are for the inner corner and the lower row; long 14–18 mm lengths are for statement effects (fox eye, doll, wet look).
- The effect comes from the length map: natural — lengths grow gradually toward the outer corner; doll — the longest in the center; fox eye — the longest at the outer corner; squirrel — the peak length near the outer third.
Mixed tray or single lengths?
- Mixed tray — several lengths in one tray (for example 9–12 mm or 6–13 mm). Convenient for everyday work and for getting started: everything is at hand.
- Single lengths — the whole tray is one length. Good value when one length runs out faster than the rest: you restock only that one.
Many lash artists keep 1–2 mixed trays for their main curls and restock popular lengths with single-length trays.
Which lash color to choose
- Black (Super Black, matte) — the classic choice for most clients with dark lashes and brows.
- Dark chocolate / brown — for blonde or red hair, fair skin and a natural effect, and for soft "nude" sets. Options: ONRIAL Dark Chocolate, KLIPKY Chocolate, LOTUS Brown, LASH&CASH Velvet Brown.

What is the most popular lash curl?
C. It is a moderate curl that suits most clients and gives an open yet natural look. For a more dramatic effect choose CC or D; for a natural one, B.
Which curl is best for hooded eyes?
L curls: L, L+, M or the hybrid LB, LC, LD, LJ. They have a flat base, so the lash doesn't press against the lid, and the lift starts further from the root, where it stays visible.
What thickness should I use for classic lash extensions?
0.10 or 0.12 mm — if the natural lashes are healthy and strong. For thin or weak lashes, 0.07 mm is better.
What thickness do I need for 2D, 3D and higher volume?
