Proper prep is half of lash extension retention. The order is: first the cleanser cleans the natural lashes, then the primer prepares them for bonding, during the work the booster speeds up glue curing, and at the end the sealant protects the bonds. Below is a step-by-step guide, a product table and the common mistakes that make lashes fall out early.

Step-by-step prep
Step 1. Remove makeup from the lashes
The client arrives without mascara, or you remove makeup before the treatment. Makeup residue and skin oil are a common cause of weak bonding.
Step 2. Cleanser
The Marine Collagen cleanser is applied with a microbrush to the lids and lashes after makeup removal. It removes makeup residue and dust and makes the bond between natural lashes and extensions more reliable. Work only with the client's eyes closed; if it gets into the eye, rinse with water.
Step 3. Primer
The primer is an alkaline product that opens the cuticle of the natural lashes so the glue bonds more strongly. It is applied to natural lashes only. The primer reacts directly with the glue, so the manufacturer recommends using primer and glue from the same brand — for example, with ONRIAL Fiji, Monaco and Houston glues.
Step 4. Anti-Allergy gel or spray next to the glue
Before you start, place an open Anti-Allergy gel next to the glue drop, or a cotton pad with 2–3 sprays of the spray. They absorb glue fumes during the treatment. Spray a fresh pad before every glue drop change.
Step 5. Booster — during the work
The booster speeds up glue curing. Apply it with a microbrush to the base area of the extensions, 1.5–2 mm from the root, and wait until it has fully evaporated — only then start applying lashes.
Why you need it: a slow glue absorbs moisture and volatile substances from the air while it dries, which causes white residue on the bonds and weakens them. The booster shortens curing time and reduces this risk.
Important: never apply booster to natural lashes or eyelid skin. Use a very small amount: too much makes the glue set instantly, before it meets the natural lash.
Step 6. Sealant — at the end of the treatment
The Magic Coating sealant is applied evenly with a brush or microbrush along the lash line at the base of the lashes. It completes glue curing and protects the bonds from dust and skin oil, helping extend retention. According to the manufacturer, the client can then use a bathhouse, sauna or pool without restrictions.
The manufacturer does not recommend the sealant for clients with sensitive eyes or a tendency to allergies. Avoid contact with the eyes and skin.
Removal and refills: gel remover
To remove lash extensions, use the ONRIAL S+ gel remover. The gel texture doesn't run and applies precisely.
- Place a wooden spatula under the lashes to absorb excess product.
- Apply a small amount of remover to the bonds with a microbrush.
- Wait 2–3 minutes (the time depends on the glue).
- Gently remove the extensions.
Common prep mistakes
- Skipping the cleanser — oil and makeup residue interfere with bonding, and lashes last less.
- Primer and glue from different brands — the products may interact less well. The manufacturer recommends one brand.
- Booster on natural lashes — not allowed: it is for extensions only.
- Too much booster — the glue sets before bonding, causing kinks and uneven fans.
- Working in air that is too dry or too humid — the glue speed moves away from the stated values. How to choose a glue for your humidity — in our lash glue guide.
Frequently asked questions
In what order are lash extension products applied?
Cleanser → primer → during the work, booster on the extensions and Anti-Allergy gel or spray next to the glue → sealant after the treatment. For removal — gel remover.
Why do I need a primer if I already use a cleanser?
They do different jobs. The cleanser removes makeup residue, oil and dust from the lashes. The primer is an alkaline product that opens the lash cuticle so the glue bonds more strongly.
Can booster be applied to natural lashes?
No. Booster is applied only to the base area of the extensions, 1.5–2 mm from the root. Wait until it fully evaporates before applying lashes.
Why does white residue appear on the bonds?
Usually because of slow curing: while the glue dries it absorbs moisture and volatile substances from the air. A booster shortens curing time and reduces this risk.
Can the client go to the pool or sauna after the sealant?
According to the Magic Coating manufacturer, after the sealant the glue curing is complete and the client can visit a bathhouse, sauna or pool without restrictions.
How long do preparations last after opening?
Magic Coating sealant — 8 months, S+ gel remover and Anti-Allergy spray — 6 months, Anti-Allergy gel — 2 months. Keep the products tightly closed in a cool place.
How much is delivery of preparations in Israel?
₪35, free on orders from ₪500. In Haifa, the Krayot, Akko, Nahariya and nearby — free from ₪200. Delivery takes 1–4 business days. Details on the shipping and payment page.
